Arthur T. (Art) Nickel joined The King Group on June 2, 2006, adding his Broker’s License to the Fort Myers office. In addition to being a State-Certified General Real Estate Appraiser (#RZ2610), Art is a Licensed Real Estate Broker and a Notary Public. Art and Jan Nickel moved to Florida in 1997, a couple of years after Art completed his BBA and MBA at East Tennessee State University and Jan’s re-association with CI Travel in Naples.
After attending courses at the Academy of Real Estate Education, Art became a licensed real estate salesperson in 1997 and earned his broker’s license in 1998, having worked for Realty World – C. Bagans First in Lehigh Acres and then with Mel King at Barbee & Son, Inc. in Fort Myers. During that time, Art also taught courses in real estate licensing at The Academy of Real Estate Education.
In 1999, Art returned for preliminary training in real estate appraisal. Art then did his trainee work as an independent contractor under the corporate name of Art Nickel Consulting, Inc. with Appraisal Research Corporation of Naples where he completed the requirements and earned his State-Certified General Real Estate Appraiser (#RZ2610) license. When Appraisal Research Corporation of Naples became part of the Integra Realty Resource group, Art Nickel Consulting, Inc. continued its association until earlier this year. Art has completed commercial appraisals in Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Lee, and Sarasota Counties.
Art Nickel Consulting, Inc. will be partnering with Mel King Enterprises to open a new appraisal service in La Belle, Florida within the next few months. The new organization will concentrate on Hendry, Lee, and Charlotte counties. The new company plans to offer both commercial and residential services. While not planning to take any trainees in the near future, the company has not discounted the possibility after it becomes established.
